Frequently Asked Questions
What does the orphanage do?
The orphanage gives these children a place
to call home. They are loved, taught Thai and English and are encouraged
to attend school and receive an education. For most of them, this is
the first opportunity they have ever had to attend school. Without the
orphanage, these children would be doomed to a life on the streets of Chaing
Mai, Thailand, where they would be easy prey for sexual predators and child
slavery trading.
Who runs the orphanage?
Rev. Dr. Sirirat Pusurinkham, a devoted leader in the community
and ordained minister leads both the orphanage and pastors the small church
at Prattachisuk. She is a second generation minister, her father still
active in the church, and both parents live on site, helping with the affairs
of the orphanage.
What can I do?
Every year we select 15 sponsors who sponsor an individual
child for the year. Seven hundred fifty dollars per child ensures they
receive food, clothing, shelter, school uniforms, school supplies and a loving
environment. We
need dedicated individuals to sponsor these children and help them lead the
life they deserve. For more information, please visit
the Sponsorships page.
How else can I help?
You can make a direct contribution to the funding
of the orphanage. The overhead is extremely low, and all money is directly
for the benefit of the childrens’ needs. Your donations are tax deductible,
and are funneled through the church, to ensure that the funds reach their intended
destination. Know that every contribution is a huge amount to these kids, as
they depend on the donations of others to continue living their lives at this
wonderful place they call home.
